This visual art book features image boards, graphic layouts, and materials from the film Tales from Earthsea.

It includes numerous early concept boards created by director Gorō Miyazaki, animation director Akihiko Yamashita, and fellow animation director Takeshi Inamura.

The book also features interviews with the director and other key staff members, graphic boards and background paintings by art director Yōji Takeshige and other members of the art team, stills from the film, and the dubbing script.
